Halloween's coming!

My friend posted this on Facebook, and I quite like it:

It's so true. Prepare your kids, because you aren't going to be around forever. As much as I'd like to be on this earth forever, someday I won't be, and my sweet girl will be left to her own devices. I can only wonder of the big things her  future may possibly hold. :) When we hold her and play, we always wonder aloud as to what she'll do when she's older... a scary thought, because when she's older, we'll be much older! AHHH!! Even the rough days are easy to triumph over for one big reason: she is not going to be this small forever. She will be walking, talking, and off to school before we know it. It's probably weird to hear, but the crazy days where she's extra fussy, or nights when she'd rather yank my hair out instead of calming down for bedtime, well... I love those moments! It just means I get to spend more time with my little baby.

And on a less sentimental note....

Yippee!!!! I'm pretty darn excited for Halloween. Ever the procrastinator, I wasn't really sure if we would be dressing up this year, but alas -- we are! It's official, we are going to be Team Rocket from Pokemon, the hilarious villains that aren't too good at being villains!

And little Camilla is going to be Meowth, their cat! (And Desoto will probably be Pikachu)

Josh's costume came first... purple wig and all! He tried it on, which I found quite amusing, but it looked pretty good! I actually think his costume is for a girl (lol), as it was a bit snug, but it'll work! My costume came on my birthday and it's near perfect! Now all I have to figure out is how I'm going to get my red wig to stand up like Jessie's, BUT I do have a game plan... hopefully I can pull it off, if not, I suppose I can always just wear the hair down. It won't be as fun though! I purchased Camilla a Meowth hat, though it's FAR too big. It's a very cute hat from a super nice seller on Etsy, but the problem is it's crocheted (or knitted?) and I'm not sure if there is a way I can shrink it, or not. I'm probably going to call Sue and see if there's any information up her sleeve for me to fix it lol, since she's the crafty queen. Now all we need are some pumpkins to carve and we'll be good! I went out and got some Halloween decorations and I hung up some bats and skeletons, etc. It's going to be so great! Josh did say he would need lots of vodka, or something similar, if he's to act the part of James... LOL. For anyone who hasn't seen the show, James is very effeminate. Yay! I'm so excited! I love Halloween!!!

Oh, my birthday was super! We just spent it at home, relaxing and whatnot. Josh took the day off and it was a very nice night in. He originally planned for us to go out to dinner somewhere but with Camilla, it's a little tricky lol. So he brought Olive Garden to me instead of us packing up to go. We did go to IHOP the other day and Cam was very well behaved (wish I could say the same for the other little kids there!) I know it's not going to be like that all the time, so when she is nice and behaved, I sure am grateful. Josh is so wonderful, he got me a griddle/grill hybrid pan that I've been wanting, this nice/big swiveling spice rack (yay!), and... actually quite a few domestic household things LOL. I told him I didn't need anything/much. But men! He also got me a birthday cake which I could not resist the temptation... sigh!

Camilla's 4 month was a few days ago and she did fantastic! The doctor went over all that  she should be doing by this age and she scored perfect for all of them. When the doctor listened to her heartbeat, Camilla grabbed her I.D. tags and the doc said, "Well, she's definitely curious! That's a huge plus!" Woohoo! It was so hard watching her get her shots though, the three she got in her legs-- ouch! She grasped my fingers so hard, and she stared at me all the while crying, thinking about it is making me sad... :( but she's a good baby, and she was fine right afterwards, although a bit grumbly. Everyone thinks she is so adorable; a couple ladies in the waiting room were talking to her and asking her if she got ouchies today, and Camilla grumbled and gurgled back to them. So funny! She is definitely a talker, even to Desoto... who has become a nanny dog. I don't think he is capable of walking by her sleeper without poking his nose in there. I wonder if he's just seeing how she's doing, or what. I know I've posted this picture already but... I can't help myself!

Her expression is just so silly. I have a feeling they are going to be partners in crime someday. And she's  going to be the perpetrator.
Oh look at her adorable little face and HUGE eyes! This was after a bath. Squeaky clean and super cute!I think it's time for more adorable pictures....

Oh my word, I love this cutie pie.

I decided to delete the last blog. There really is no need to put something like that on here, so sorry if I offended anyone. It's just very upsetting watching someone related to you, simply tread in laziness and apathy, because I know (and my sister, and pretty much EVERYONE else who knows of the situation) know, that they can do so much better. The fact that nobody is doing anything about it because of their laundry list of denial and excuses, doesn't matter. He shouldn't have to "depend" on anyone when he is an adult -- when you are an adult, you are responsible for your own actions. Hell, even a teenager should be responsible for their own actions. I just wish SOMETHING could be done about it, and using religion as an excuse, and God as a beacon for wish-prayers (like wishing for my mother to find a rich man to take care of her... she has a job, she's on her own, she's doing fine) is silly. I don't think anyone should treat God like that, even if I'm not religious, that is not what he is there for... if anything, if you have faith, maybe the religious should be praying for a better world. One where children in other countries aren't starving, or where they have the medications available to help their needs, where education is available to them. And here, we have a teenager who refuses to eat because he doesn't care, screwing his education up by not caring nor trying, and not even taking his epilepsy medicine because people are teaching him to not trust doctors. It's so sad, and I feel so burdened by this. I don't want him to grow up to be a bum.  I don't want to see him hurting as an adult, because everyone lets him do whatever he wants, whenever he wants as a teenager. That's all. And yes, he did talk back to his gym teacher. The gym teacher told everyone to do push ups and your pride and joy REFUSED to follow along, so he made him run laps. Then you laugh and chuckle saying, wow he can run laps and jump hurdles! That's not something to be proud of... honestly, he should've just done push ups like the rest of the class. He's not dancing to the beat of his own drum, refusing to do push ups with everyone else is just plain ol' obnoxiousness. I wish I had a 2000 mile long arm so I could slap some sense into him. Lol.

Anyway. Besides feeling like total crap that all this madness is going on in my family, things have been good over here. Camilla is interacting with her toys! Yay! We went on an evening trip to the store last night to get her more toys, and she LOVES this litte rattle ball and light up touch toy. Gosh she's so adorable, we love her so much!!!! She's definitely been staring at our food when me or Josh eat, even staring at Desoto when he's chewing his bones lol, so when she hits 4 months I will probably start her on some baby foods. All the recalls on baby food lately have me a bit paranoid, ha, so I'll probably just conjure up some myself with the blender. I was eating some avocada yesterday and gave her a couple tastes... and her expressions were hilarious! She is quite the expressive baby. :)

Hmmm what else?! Josh had a 4 day weekend so we had a lot of fun just hanging out. We took our weekend trip to the mall and that's probably my favorite day of the week. Cam was in her panda leggings and the sales people in the department and movie stores cooed over her. She's such a popular little lady! Oh I suppose another new thing, I'm on the Atkins diet. It's working! It's basically no carb/no sugar the first two weeks, then you slowly add carbs and sugars later on. I lost 5lbs the first week, and I weighed myself today and lost another pound. Hopefully it keeps going like that lol. I read that the first two weeks are when it really hits you, and it'll probably slow down afterwards. It's damn hard though! Grocery shopping is challenging actually having to read and study labels. Phew. But the payout will be worth it! Josh isn't on it, so it's hard watching him eat all the good stuff! Lol. Especially at the mall.. I was like oh god droooooolllll at everything in the food court. And all the coffee places! *sigh* But I must keep trudging on!

Picture time!! (oh and I found that one baby pic of Josh that reminds me of Cam, and I saw some very cute photos of his parents back in the day... Sue, you are a hottie! Dennis is so lucky!)

Blerghhhh!

Posted by ChristineElaine at 10:57 PM 0 comments
Oops, I know I said I would write a blog after the last previous one but.. ehhhh. I haven't been feeling 100% the past few days, and I think I may have put more on my plate than I should've. I'm ALWAYS doing that! Oh well, I'm definitely still going to try to keep this going on... it's a lot easier to update this and chat to family in one big swoop! Plus, it's nice to have a place to look back on photos, news, etc.

It's October!!! Crap, time is going by way too fast. It's birthday month! Which means my Grandma, my Dad, and my birthday all jam packed in this month. Phew. Yay for another year older! (or not... I refuse to be 26!)

Camilla is doing super! She's taking more notice of things. Looks at whoever is talking to her, giggles, and babbles. She loves watching Desoto, whether he's just walking on by, or chewing on a toy. She gets a kick out him, and it's sooooooooooooo freeeaaaking cute how she gets all shy around Josh. She'll smile shyly and acts all coy if he says hi to her or starts a conversation with her. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen! Actually, today Desoto was chewing on a long piece of rope toy that came off of a toy, so while he had one end, I held up the other and gave it to her to hold. Well, she held it alright... then brought it to her mouth to suck on! I was like AHHHHHHH NOOOOO! I couldn't stop laughing, but I was like oh silly girl! It was just so hilarious, especially since the other end was being chewed on by Desoto! Silly little lady. So now she's bringing things to her mouth, so must be keeping Desoto's things away from her haha.  Also, she's finally in size 2 diapers.. she's still a tiny little thing and they are a bit big on her, but 1s are a bit tight now. I'll put a cloth diaper on her now and then, but I don't have enough of those filler-stuff things so, eh I guess if it saves a diaper here and there it's better than nothing lol.

Hmmm what else. Cam has a doctor appointment on the 15th (I got her switched to my clinic YAY!!!!!!!!! SOOO CONVENIENT!!!) and she turns 4 months in 6 days!!! Crazyness!! It seems like only yesterday we brought her home and I was terrified out of my mind. Things have changed a LOT since then, and I really can't say enough how lucky we are to have such an easygoing baby. Sleeps through the night and everything! I think co-sleeping has a lot to do with that, but it really does work for us! She sleeps in her rocker for part of the night but it's me that's the one that grabs her for sleeping the rest of the night... I think if anyone's going to have a tough time sleeping by herself, it's going to be ME lol.

October's going to go by fast too, I can feel it. I really have to get my ass into gear and clean this darn house top to bottom, including readying up the guest bedroom. I've got much more energy now and Cam is more occupied with other things around her (and she loves her space themed play mat!), so I'm sure I can get plenty done before my friend comes up. I can't wait for her to see Cam and see how cute and what a bubbly little personality she has. :) It's funny, she asked me 'how do you like having a mini-you?' and I said, 'Mini-me? More like mini-josh!' Hahaha, it's so cute and funny. I warned Josh, she might look like you, but she's probably going to act like her mom. So prepare yourself!!

Anyway! Josh IS staying, no school for him this fall/winter... I'm pretty relieved, I know he's a little bummed because he just wants to get it out of the way BUT we are both quite pleased he'll be here for everything. The next one comes up in Jan/Feb-ish, so we'll see about that. Nothing is EVER concrete in his line of work, whatever happens, we'll keep doing our thing and Camilla will be doing her thing... i.e. drooling all over everything. :)

Halloween is coming up!!! One of my most favorite holidays of all time and I don't think we'll be dressing up. I really wanted to be Team Rocket and Camilla be Meowth, but I'm not really at my desired weight for a cute costume this year I don't think... I'll probably just dress up Camilla. What should Camilla be?!

This post is ALL over the place, but that is how my brain works these days!  Incoming pics. :D

How gorgeous is she?!

Desoto says hi, Blogland!

Happy family!

Amused, yet confused.

Awwww.

Lol.

Fashion girl!

Ahahah I love her faces.

Spit bubbles!

This look says, "Yep. I'm cute."

Good night and lots of love everyone!!!

Blog tomorrow, I promise!!!! Been crazzzzzzzzzzzzy busy here! Well, I suppose not so much 'crazy', but definitely BUSY. Had like, 18 orders within the past two days, so I'm finally caught up on that. I will deeeeeeeeeeeeeefinitely post some stuff tomorrow!

In the meantime, here are some cute pic of the past few weeks!

Does she get cuter every day or what?!

So beautiful. <3 (the baby and the blanket!)

Oh that smiley face!

We went to the post office that day. :)

Isn't that sooo silly? Especially on him!

And you thought Desoto couldn't get anymore sillier...

:D my little lovey baby girl!

Those last two pictures of Desoto and Camilla are my current favorites. They are just so sweet and I LOVE them together. I can't wait for her to be grow up and interact with him more. I actually took a video, and maybe I'll upload it, but he's just sniffing and licking her, being very very gentle with her. It was so precious when I put her down for tummy time and he inched his way forwards, until he finally got to where she was, and then curled around her. I was waiting with bated breath, ready in a snap of a second to demand he get off the couch in case he came over in a hyper-spazzy manner, but he was slow and meticulous about where his paws went... and it was such a relief! I'm VERY strict with him -- he's allowed on any furniture, but he is NOT allowed to jump Free Willy style all over everything -- that I don't tolerate, and he has learned that Camilla is a precious little lady, and that he needs to be extra careful. Of course, this is just with me. With Josh, he's 100 miles a minute, Josh needs to be more strict. ;)

It's also quite adorable and definitely strange, that he joins me in the bathroom when I'm giving her a bath. Maybe he thinks he has to be involved too, because he's the watch dog? Who knows! Lol.

More tomorrow, I promise!!! I just had to gush about Desoto's cuteness with Camilla today. :) She's very lucky to have him around to watch over her.
